The resealable can end

Seal the moment.

FlipSeal opens your can — and lets you seal it again. A quarter turn closes it. A quarter turn opens it again.

500bn

Aluminium cans are manufactured every year. Every one of them opens exactly once.

Carbonation is the product, and from the moment a can is open it is leaving. FlipSeal's re-closing mechanism helps preserve carbonation, aroma and taste even after reopening, and keeps dust, spills and direct contact out of the drink in between. The whole assembly is 100% recyclable aluminium — nothing extra to sort, nothing extra to throw away — and it fits standard aluminium cans worldwide, so the filling line does not change.

It doesn't fold.
It turns.

The tab lifts and opens the aperture the way any can does. What is new is what happens next: the plate pivots on the central rivet and swings a solid wing back across the opening.

The same quarter turn, on the prototype.

Thumb pressure on the plate, one hand, no tool. The wing sweeps across the end and seats over the aperture — carbonation in, dust and grit out, and the can survives going back into a bag.

The lid

Every can has
a second face.

Brands fight over the wrap and ignore the end — the one surface a drinker looks straight down at, every single sip. FlipSeal turns it into a graphic that moves.

  • A shape you can own

The plate is tooled to a silhouette; the quarters print to your colours.

  • Two states, two artworks

Sealed reads one way, open reads another.

  • Visible in the shot

Overhead is how cans get photographed — on the bar, on the desk, in the feed.

Three cans from the FlipSeal production CAD, each with the end in a different colourway: green on yellow, red-white-blue on navy, and red on blue.
Colourway studies straight from the production CAD — the quarters and the plate print to your palette.
Many FlipSeal ends seen from above, some open and some sealed, forming a repeating pattern.
Open and sealed read differently — the shelf changes as the pack is used.

Nothing on
the line changes.

A resealable end only matters if the can, the seamer and the recycling stream all stay exactly as they are. These are the constraints the design is held to.

Material
100% aluminium

One material throughout, so the can recycles where it already goes.

Fit
Standard cans

The can format used worldwide. Nothing about it has to change.

Loose parts
Zero

The plate stays captive on the rivet from first turn to recycling bin.

Operation
One hand

Lift, drink, turn. No tool, no second hand, no fingernail.
